Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LexiTrainer website (lexitrainer.org) and the LexiTrainer mobile application for iOS and Android (together, "LexiTrainer", "we", "us"). By using LexiTrainer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use LexiTrainer.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, continuing as a Guest, or otherwise using the LexiTrainer website or app, you confirm that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Using LexiTrainer

LexiTrainer is a vocabulary-learning app that helps you learn and review words using spaced repetition. LexiTrainer is currently free to use, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Accounts

You can use LexiTrainer as an anonymous Guest or create an account using email/password, Google Sign-In, or (on iOS) Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. A Guest session can be upgraded to a full account at any time; a full, non-Guest account may require re-authentication for certain security-sensitive actions, such as deleting your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use LexiTrainer only for its intended purpose of learning and practicing vocabulary, and not to misuse the app or the services it relies on — for example, by attempting to disrupt the app, access another user's account, or use its translation or image-search features for unlawful content.

Your Learning Data

Vocabulary lists, learning progress, and other content you create while using LexiTrainer are yours. We store this data (via Firebase Authentication and Firestore) so it can sync to your account and so the app can function, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

LexiTrainer uses third-party services to provide certain features, including Firebase (authentication and data storage), Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple (account sign-in), Google Translate (translation), Openverse (image search), and ipapi.co / open-meteo.com (the weather greeting). Your use of these features is also subject to each provider's own terms.

Intellectual Property

The LexiTrainer name, app, and website content (excluding your own learning data and any third-party content shown through Openverse, Google Translate, or similar services) belong to LexiTrainer's operators. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the LexiTrainer app or website except as the app itself allows.

Availability & Changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features of LexiTrainer at any time, and availability may depend on third-party services (such as Firebase, Google Translate, Openverse, ipapi.co, or open-meteo.com) that are outside our control.

Termination & Account Deletion

You may stop using LexiTrainer and delete your account at any time — see the Delete Account page for how. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms. Learn how to delete your account

Warranty Disclaimer

LexiTrainer is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, LexiTrainer's operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability, or any consumer right, that cannot lawfully be limited or waived under the mandatory law of your jurisdiction.

Age

LexiTrainer is a general-audience vocabulary-learning app. If your jurisdiction sets a minimum age for agreeing to these Terms, or for creating an account without parental consent, you confirm that you meet it. Some dictionaries or content packs within LexiTrainer may contain mature or age-restricted material and may be designated for users aged 18 or older; this does not mean the app as a whole is restricted to adults, and you should respect the age designation shown for any such content.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without depriving you of any mandatory consumer protections you may have under the laws of the country where you live.
